Karkade: The Red Tea of Egypt
Hibiscus tea was used in ancient Egypt - served cold, and primarily used by Pharaohs to cool off in the desert heat. It also played a role in religious and healing ceremonies.
Today, traditional Egyptian and Sudanese weddings still typically contain a toast using hibiscus tea.
