Chai Garam
Chai Garam is a Hindi phrase that means "hot tea". This is a common phrase shouted out by the vendors at railway platforms, bus stands and other such places in India.
Chai pe charcha: a discussion over tea. Important discussions should be made over a cup of tea.... as the song goes.....‘Sayad meri shaadi ka khayal..Isi liye mummy ne meri tumhe chai me bulaya hain’ (perhaps there is marriage in the mind, that is why my mother has called you for tea).
Cutting chai: a glass of tea shared by two (ie: having a half glass of tea)
Some people add ginger or pudina (mint) to their tea
Punjabis enjoy "bed tea" - having your cup of tea before even getting out of bed
